While for developers who want to develop specific applications for Playbook, RIM has provided Software Development Kit for BlackBerry Playbook special that will support the language C / C, HTML5, Flash and AIR.  This SDK will be available in Beta version, this summer.

As for specific game developers, RIM announced that it has received support from two games developer tool that is Ideaworks Labs and Unity Technologies, so that developers can use cross-platform game engine to make games on the BlackBerry Playbook.

Until now, there are more than 25 thousand BlackBerry Java applications and more than 200 thousand applications Android.  Playbook BlackBerry and BlackBerry Tablet OS itself is built based on QNX Neutrino microkernel architecture.
